BIO
Dr. Nassar is an assistant professor of Management and Marketing in the college of Business Administration at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). He earned his doctoral degree (PhD.) from the Cardiff School of Management, University of Wales in the UK. He has been engaged with teaching since 1990, after completing a BSc. degree in Hotel and Tourism Management in the University of Alexandria, he joined the teaching faculty and started his academic career. He also earned his MSc. from the University of Alexandria and his MPhil. from the University of Wales/UK, in 2001. He is a certified Tourism Destination Manager and Marketer from the George Washington University in the USA, 1997. Prior to lecturing, he gained industrial experience in both public and private sector organisations and personal life experience through travelling/working in the USA, Europe and the Middle East.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Nassar has developed a varied teaching profile at the levels of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching around the UK, Egypt, Dubai, Kuwait and Oman, he taught across different courses including Business Environment, Services Management, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, International Marketing, Services Marketing, Hotel Management, Tourism Development and Planning, and Eco-Tourism. His teaching has involved a wide range of age groups (17-50), at part-time and full-time, to people from a multitude of backgrounds, including international students and using a variety of teaching methods. He also taught across a range of modules including tourism, statistics and information technology (year one for HND/RML) and other tourism operations and marketing-related modules in the Welsh school of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management (WSHTLM) in the University of Wales/UK. He is also involved in the development of staff and academic programmes with private higher education institutions in Egypt.
RESEARCH INTEREST
Dr. Nassar’s research interest is mainly in marketing, branding and on-line advertising. He is particularly interested in the application of information and communication technologies within the broader travel and tourism industry. He is currently guiding a number of doctoral and master degree students across a variety of marketing and management research projects at the University of Alexandria.

Work as a consultant for the British Council in Cairo- Developing strategies for a ‘vocational skills standards’ program in the area of hotel management.

Work as a consultant in the area of developing effective strategies for websites development and web marketing for the hotel sector.
